From 24 to 28 September, 10 students from the University of Applied Sciences Merseburg and 15 students from Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt participated in a seminar and cultural exchange program in Thailand and Laos, where they engaged with 30 students from Naresuan University, Thailand. The group was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Dirk Sackmann, Prof. Dr. Andreas Jattke, and Ms. Larissa LΓΆΓer. The fourth Flying Seminar was integrated into the course International Logistics by Prof. Dr. Sackmann, offered during the summer semester of 2018.
The journey began in Luang Prabang, Laos, with an introduction to the LaosβChina Railway Project, visits to local temples, and participation in a traditional offering ceremony conducted by monks. The group then travelled to Phitsanulok, Thailand, to attend the scheduled conference on 26 September.

Conference topics included Canabis Supply Chain Management, Economic Corridors and further logistic related matters involving, among other things, the Jackfruit transportation system. All participating students wrote term papers in advance and presented their results to the other attendees as part of their seminar.
A highlight of the event was the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Naresuan University and the University of Applied Sciences Merseburg, establishing a commitment to future academic cooperation.

In addition to the seminar in Phitsanulok, students visited the Naresuan campus and logistics faculty, and participated in a guided tour of a banana processing facility, where bananas are dried and distributed using solar energy.
After the conference, the group travelled to Ayutthaya, Thailand, where they visited a floating market and explored a significant historical temple before returning home.
