On June 29, 2023, following a short excursion to the University of Bremen campus, the delegation from Zhongyuan University of Technology (ZUT) was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Irina Dovbischuk on a visit to the Fraunhofer Center for Maritime Logistics and Services (CML) in Hamburg. The head of the institute, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Carlos Jahn, warmly welcomed the delegates and twelve students majoring in logistics management from the International University of Applied Sciences in the new building at Hamburg’s inland port.

The ZUT delegation, led by Prof. Xuejun Sun, consisted of three nominated students—Lingchen Wang, Ni Jin, and Xinru Liu—as well as two administrative staff members, Xiaowei Tu and Yuan Meng. During the visit, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jahn presented several international CML projects focused on assessing and developing innovative solutions for smart ports and maritime logistics, which were subsequently discussed in detail with the visitors.

On July 3, the ZUT delegation visited the Mercedes-Benz factory in Bremen, a renowned automotive manufacturing facility recognized for its advanced production processes and state-of-the-art technology. The factory plays a pivotal role in the production of various Mercedes-Benz models, reflecting the brand’s commitment to precision engineering and continuous innovation.

On July 5, the group embarked on an excursion to the Airbus factory, a major aerospace manufacturing hub. The facility contributes to the production of key aircraft components, including fuselage sections and wings. With its cutting-edge infrastructure and highly skilled workforce, the Airbus plant is integral to the company’s global supply chain, ensuring the assembly of high-quality, technologically advanced commercial aircraft. The factory’s dedication to innovation and engineering excellence underscores its prominent position in the global aviation industry.
