On June 29, 2023, after a short excursion to the campus of the University of Bremen, the delegation from the Zhongyuan University of Technology (ZUT) was accompanied by Prof. Irina Dovbischuk to visit the Fraunhofer Center for Maritime Logistics and Services (CML). The head of the institute, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Carlos Jahn, warmly welcomed the delegates and twelve students majoring in logistics management from the International University of Applied Sciences in the new building at Hamburg’s inland port. Led by Prof. Xuejun Sun, the ZUT delegation team comprised three nominated students, Lingchen Wang, Ni Jin, and Xinru Liu, as well as two administrative staff members, Xiaowei Tu and Yuan Meng. In Hamburg, several international CML projects assessing or proposing innovative solutions for smart ports and maritime logistics were presented by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jahn and discussed afterward.

On July 03, the ZUT team visited the Mercedes-Benz factory. The Mercedes-Benz factory in Bremen is a renowned automotive manufacturing facility known for its advanced production processes and state-of-the-art technology. It plays a pivotal role in the production of various Mercedes-Benz models, showcasing the brand’s commitment to precision engineering and innovation. On July 05, an excursion to the Airbus factory was realized. It is a significant aerospace manufacturing hub that contributes to the production of various components for Airbus aircraft, such as fuselage sections and wings. With its cutting-edge facilities and skilled workforce, the factory plays a crucial role in Airbus’s global supply chain, ensuring the assembly of high-quality and technologically advanced commercial aircraft. The facility’s dedication to innovation and precision engineering underscores its importance in the aviation industry.
